Awesome quality armor bundle. I was a bit hesitant at first, the price seemed too good to be true, but after looking into Highcom and their reputation as well as “mixed” reviews of TE&A (per Google Gemini) I decided to wing it, as it wasn’t downright negative.
I’m very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the T3 Striker and I have to say the carrier is superior to the department-issued steel carrier I’m used to. The quick-detach buckles at the shoulders and waist are phenomenal for donning/doffing the vest. I do have some concern about them being ripped off in an active situation or aggressive training, but so far I’ve had no issues during live fire drills. Granted, I haven’t had to grapple with anybody at the range yet, so I can’t be certain. However, the QOL that the feature brings is simply incredible.
The plates themselves are authentic Highcom plates as far as I can tell. While heavy (they’re steel), they’re still much lighter than what older millennials or lower-budget LE departments may be familiar with (I’m talking to you, National Guard donated armor).
I haven’t yet been willing to waste the money to actually test the armor to make sure it holds up to NJI standards, but Highcom is a trustworthy company and I’ll take their word for it.
The T3 Striker carrier is also perfect for a low-maintenance, simple rig. It has the capacity to carry most of what you need, and nothing you don’t. No, I will not be using the included Velcro pistol holder. But you can utilize that real estate for a phone case or whatever else you may have in mind. I don’t realize when purchasing, but you can even cram AR pattern (or similar) mags into the pouches along the waist. This sucker can haul 9 AR mags if you so choose.
All in all, I’m INCREDIBLY satisfied with my purchase thus far, and will 100% be purchasing from TE&A again in the future, for some Lv IV gear.
