Tactical Edge and Armor provides a wide selection of tactical plate carriers designed from lightweight concealable and full-duty models. Commonly known as “bulletproof vests,” these carriers are built to securely hold ceramic, composite, or steel body armor plates. Each plate carrier is fully customizable with MOLLE-compatible pouches for mission-ready gear setup. For enhanced comfort and reduced blunt force trauma, trauma pads are recommended—though they do not provide ballistic resistance.

Three carrier types The lineup splits into three categories, each built for a different role:
- Tactical Carriers: Full MOLLE real estate, quick-release systems, and side plate pockets for a complete duty loadout.
- Patrol Carriers: A middle ground between tactical and concealable, built for daily-wear duty use without the full external gear footprint.
- Concealable Carriers: Low-profile, worn under clothing, designed to hold plates discreetly without external pouches or bulk.
What to check before buying a carrier The single most important spec is plate size compatibility. Check the carrier’s listing for its plate pocket dimensions and match that against whatever plates you’re running, or work backward from our Armor Plates category if you haven’t bought plates yet.
Trauma pads: comfort, not ballistic protection Trauma pads are recommended for enhanced comfort and reduced blunt force trauma, but they do not provide ballistic resistance. Don’t treat a trauma pad as a substitute for a rated plate, it’s a comfort layer, not protection.
MOLLE webbing and modularity Tactical and Patrol carriers include MOLLE-compatible webbing, letting you attach magazine pouches, medical kits, holsters, and other mission-specific gear directly to the vest. If you’re outfitting a full loadout, our Accessories category has pouches and attachments sized for standard MOLLE webbing.
